I have been working on my friends Transmission Oil Cooler Lines for a while now (like 5 months). It has been leaking since she left for Overseas in February and got really bad while she let my wife drive it. I have already replaced with Junkyard lines, and it kept leaking and breaking a bolt. I bought new lines and put them in, and now it is leaking from the port on the radiator. I have remove everything checked it 2 times, and still not understanding why in the world it is leaking, I figured out that I replaced the retaining clip wrong, so I went and bought new ones, and replaced it with a brand new one, and now it is leaking worse than it was before. I am at a loss is anyone able to assist? Also, its the port on the top of the radiator. Thank you so much in advance!

Comment a few times until you get to level 1, and then if you can post some pictures it will help
Did the lines have any crush washers or anything when you installed them? Typically no, but worth asking
Twice now you replaced lines and then it leaked. Did the leaking begin right away or after being driven for a few days?
There are the crush washers on the side that goes into the trans, but not the radiator.
Yep, I replaced them because the old ones were dry rotted.
When you installed the new lines did they leak immediately or did it take some time?
The second time I replaced them was because one of them didnt have the O rings and the other end was bent so I wasnt able to get a good seal on it.
It has to warm up but other than that it leaked practically immediately.
Hmm. What manufacturer of the replacement lines?
Dorman
Usually they do fine. Concern at the moment is that you have Dorman lines installed, they are not leaking at the transmission end, they are leaking from where they bolt to the radiator correct?
correct.
Any chance there’s play in the fittings in the transmission end?
nope, I have checked and double checked. They are as tight as I can get it.
I’m a doofus. Meant to say, play in the fittings at the radiator end. I assume the answer is no but wanted to ask the right question at least 😂
Yeah, I have checked a couple of times, There isnt any play in the slot at all. I will take some photos today and upload later!
GG @light prawn, you just advanced to level 1! Chat more to level up and earn top roles!
Are these tapered fittings?
it is Line, like a flare type ordeal, then the remaining bit of the line. If that makes sense. Im sorry Im not sure what a tapered fitting is.
The threads on the right are tapered. See how it is angled.
OHHHH no it isnt like that at all, let me grab a picture real quick
I don’t see where a crush washer would go on this
This looks like a hose would go over this and seals with a clamp
These line up from what I see on the radiator. It should be a compression fit.
Ahh I see. I read this wrong sorry.
I’m going to assume your radiator is cracked at these points
