Hey guy's I went to check on the condition of my time belt when I found this. Both the top and bottom are cracked like this and the thread insert spins when I tried to gently loosen the bolt.
I was wondering if I could temporarily fix it with jb weld or something similar untill I do the timing or if it's best to just leave it be.
Im assuming who ever did the belt previously over tightened them tho im not sure when it was last done.
Any advice is appreciated

Not really a problem as long as it doesnt touch the belt itself. I wouldnt bother with it, maybe get a new cover for when you do a tb change

dont worry. i have several old cars where the timing belt cover is so dry its cracked apart and its job is really just to keep crap out of the timing belt area. just have the belt changed on intervals and youre good
