Recently ran a flat. Was wondering if this is patachable? A shop near me mentioned that they'll try to do it. But most shops say it's too close to sidewall and need a new tire.

Yeah, I have a 2004 Z4. My front two tires are date code w/ 22 and have 5.5mm of tread left.
Rears are 21 and have 5.5 mm too, this puncture was on my rear.
Shop near me is looking to charge $50 to attempt a patch from the inside.
