is my engine fucked or just my alternator?

hey im pretty new to cars
i just recently bought a nissan wingroad 2002
its been going a little funny an now its stopped working my mates recon its the alternatior becouse the battery isnt getting charged but beofre it wasnt starting
it was going funny as well it wasnt revving up like i would flat foot it and it would be going about 10ks but if it was in park or nurtal it would rev up just fine just wanting to know if thats all caused but the alternatoir or if it could be something else thats not worth fixing

also just to add when i got the car it was fine it was just in the morning whne i went to drive it wasnt starting and then when we started it was slow

it only stays on for a little bit now

I would reason checking the alternator, seems like a likely culprit. A dying alternator cause cause the ignition system to act funky due to not having enough voltage to properly function. The battery not charging is also a good sign as already mentioned

so the alternator is why it was going slow and not reving up?

also if it is the alternator would your possible be able to help me find one

It is a likely culprit, I don’t know how the wingroad ignition system entirely works as some vehicles are designed to keep the ignition healthy for as long as possible while it still has some power

I would test it beforehand though before you start ordering parts, I can try to help but we don’t get the wingroad here to my knowledge so I’ll get less results in finding an alternator
