Having issue with rear brake rotor caliper bolts.

They will not budge. I’ve put a 3/8 impact on them aswell as a 1/2 impact. It’s already a tough to get at spot I had to use an extension.

Can not get these bolts off whatsoever

Im guessing you’re using six point sockets, always a good thing to confirm. Lift the car a little more and make sure it’s secured on jackstands if you haven’t already. You’ll need a breaker bar and some grunt. Be prepared to spend a few minutes orienting the bar correctly, it’ll be a bit of a challenge working with it under the car and getting a little swing to it, but that’s all you need is a small amount of swing. Good luck!

Keep impacting for a little bit more

#

Like 10 seconds non stop with a good impact wrench, it should come off

#

Mine were also very tight, i had to hold the trigger for 10 seconds

God damn

#

Are you using an impact socket ? Or chrome socket

I tried both

#

ima try and go tmmr and get a swivel socket for better angels

Are you sure you are impacting reverse ?

Because that means that bolt is torqued to like at least 800 lbs ft which is absolutely insane, that bolt must have snapped by now

Will do

If the 1/2 in doesnt work then you gotta get an induction heater or torch

Okay so i got those bolts broken lose.

Now the factory stupid 2 small bolts are completely stripped and seized. I tried drilling them out aswell as easy outing them and neither worked. I first tried manual impact with a hammer that stripped them and wouldn’t break them free. Aswell as unfreeze penetrating it to try and get it lose. Nothing would break em

You need to drill those out and use a screw extractor

Whats easy out ?

Easy out would be another name for a screw extractor. If it were me, I’d go up another 1-2 sizes in drill bit, and get the “hat” of the set screws off. The remaining shaft will still be in place, but at least that gets the rotor off. From there, it may be possible to grab the screw (if enough is exposed after removing rotor) and simply back it out, if not then another pass with the extractor may be more successful. Or really, if they’re impossible to get out, skip it. Makes putting the wheel on a little more tricky but won’t hurt anything mechanically
