This battery is less than a year old, completely died. Thinking its extra drain from this aftermarket sound system that goes no where, previous owner install. Looks like its just fused to the positive and negative not sure if this is a DIY uninstall

#

I want to remove it to not drain the battery and not risk a short or anything similar with that just hanging there

Baby system, battery shouldn't care unless the amp doesnt turn itself off

#

Unless that tiny wire is the remote, then thats the issue

it's just weird that this battery completely shit itself suddenly

#

like 10 months old

#

I also don't really like that stuff hanging there pretty sure it was on the clamp before I installed the new battery

If there’s no more stereo, makes sense to at least disconnect the wires. I’d expect battery to be under warranty at least, but then with a new battery in there it’s worth doing some testing to make sure there’s not another issue.

#

Pull that inline fuse from the power cable if you haven’t already

Yep, that was a small stereo

#

Guessing previous owner just had a bass tube or powered box in the trunk

Yeah I used 8 gage for an infinity basslink but usually my default is 4. I never build anything bigger than what you have
