#Newly aquired a Crown Victoria 2008. Working on her when she's back from the mechanic this weekend.

I just got a Crown Victoria I'm planning on working on. Last owner had the Intake Manifold replaced & spark plugs replaced. For repairs currently having the lower drive shaft, engine ignition system, valve cover gasket, & bushings repaired. Also got the coil packs swapped, freon & oil changed.

When I first get it back I wanna clean it up, replace the steering wheel, replace the seats, & black out the interior. I wanted some tips on what seats to get, how to replace the wheel, & how to paint the interior & do the carpet all the black.

In the future I'd also like to put a spoiler & change out the front bumper for something nice since it's damaged anyway.

First time doing this so I'd like some advice & help. Doesn't gotta be super cheap but I would like to ball on the cheaper end.

it might sound weird, but it might be a good idea to just take the seats out when you get it back, and give the entire inside a really deep clean

#

Itll give you a great idea of the priority you should place on replacing things (if you still want to use it meanwhile)

#

like, when I did a car refurb, I took out the seats and found the bolts holding them in were stress fractured all the way up - but also found the cause was an extra non-factory spec bolt under the chassis holding them in and causing the extra rigiddity and problems

#

If I didnt try to take the seats out, then I wouldnt have found something like that#

#

also, it gives you a good idea of the available space inside, and what you can paint, and what you might have to replace

#

but in a more "productive" way

youll spend more time getting the smell out

#

if youre taking out the seats just gut the carpet

#

basically most of the cloth

# finite needle Oh I am defo doing a deep clean & taking the seats out cus I wanna Dye the carpe...

I agree with what robuster said, if they was a smoker especially a heavy one you'll never really get rid of the smell so just remove and replace as much as possible of the interior.

while in there you could also do some aftermarket sound deadening cause that can be a big quality of life thing especially when just cruising.

as for how to build it up that's a hard question to answer.

  • what sorta build are you doing
  • why are you doing said type of build
  • how will the car be used
  • what's your access to tools like
  • how well versed are you in working on cars

Unsure what type of build I'm going for.

Kinda just wanna redo the interior completely, & black it out since the inside of her is wrecked, & wanna probably put a new steering wheel in it make it look nice. Then Since the bumper is fucked up I wanted to do something nice with the front & possibly put a nice spoiler on it in the future.

It's gonna be my daily for a few years till I pay of the house note & get a Toyota 86 prolly.

I have decent access to tools.

I'm not extremely experienced. I've helped my roomate who was a mechanic a few times, & swapped some of the easy stuff off cars for my family. Also used to do a lot of trailer work but not sure that'd help me much here. So I'm rather light on experience. Googles gonna be a good chunk of my guide redoing the interior & the like.

For the most part yeah. The only stuff I really wanna mess with that may not be OEM is playing with the front bumper & a spoiler. That & I had a stereo put in it. Aside from that yea pretty much.

IMO it's quite tacky unless it's a coupé or similar and a proper sports car but you do you I guess

Fair, there's a few different ones I like so I haven't comepletely decided on that one but I'd defo like a spoiler on it if I can find something nice. I just enjoy them aesthetically.

for something like this, you could be better off with a ducktail
