Just replaced the Power Steering Pump and Pressure Lines along with the O-rings, I've been trying to bleed it for a long time now but it just won't. I leave the car for a few hours come back and it seems to shut up (No Air in the System) but 5 minutes later the fluid if full of air (foaming). Anyone got any tricks or tips? Maybe i've done something wrong or the parts are busted, but I can't see any visible leaks. I have not replaced the low pressure side or return lines. The car is a 2012 FG MK2 Ford Falcon XR6. Any Help?
#Power Steering keeps getting air in it?

Front end in the air, engine off, you slowly turn the wheel from lock to lock. Do this a handful of times. Repeat with engine running. At least that usually works for me.
yeah thats usually the standard
Other question would be, what kind of fluid are you using? Ford spec appears to call for Mercon V
i've tried this like 5 times
I've also tried two different fluids
Used LF full syn auto trans fluid
Penrite listed this as one to use and i've also used another one, which is ATF Dexron II and III (power steering fluid)
which they also said works
Trust the owners manual. I’m not certain fluid is your problem, but we can’t rule it out since the fluid was still in the rack. Mercon V, or Mercon LV Id expect to be backwards compatible with V. I wouldn’t trust Dexron II or III to not be the issue. I have no idea what LF is. Likely they’re probably fine but we can’t rule that out as an issue.
Would be nice if I had an owners manual, didn’t get one with the car :/
I’ve just been going off what the Penrite website lists as approved for my car, I don’t think the fluid is the problem however
I agree it’s likely not the problem, just suggesting it’s worth confirming so you can say for sure it’s not the problem. That said, any other loose fittings that could be introducing air? Even the ones you didn’t touch, double check the torque on them
Might try that, the company has also sent me a replacement pump, just in case it’s faulty, gonna see how that goes then.
Cool, yep sometimes bad parts off the shelf. Let us know how it goes
Will do!
Alrighty new pump is on and I’ve also replaced the hose clamps, suspicious that the factory ones are getting weak, running now and it’s got no air, gonna let it idle for a few minutes see how it goes
Seems like that fixed the problem, no more air, pump had shut up
