Yes. Some serious tuners have their own warranty if engine damage occurs due to the tune. If the warranty is regarding something other than the drivetrain manufacturers will still cover you but reflash the OEM tune before bringing it in. As soon you do anything more than a ECU flash pretty much all waranty is voided.

@sick prawn Audi America used to be an exception if the work was done by one of their approved performance centers.
Been a while since I had my Audi, but they were praised for this back then.
Don't know about audi specifically but supposedly a jb4 or something won't be picked up on, I don't think that's true because the vehicle stores values like max boost, max speed
Pretty much yes, regardless of setting things back to stock. Most ECUs have a failsafe or trigger of some kind to tell the technicians that it'd been tampered with at some point. They see that and throw your warranty to the wind.
Not all dealers have to tools to see that and they only bring them out if they are suspicious. But usually safe to assume drivetrain warranty is voided.
Just assume especially if youre doing a warranty claim
