Hello, I recently took my 2001 325i on a 160 mile trip and in the middle in my trip it suddenly started to slow down, throttle wouldnt work, I pulled over and gave it a few minutes and it started working again, but now there is a loud whine coming from the engine bay and it randomly loses fuel and power the same way again while im driving and I have to stop and repeat the process.
Is this a bad fuel pump? What do you all think?

I don’t think it’s a bad fuel pump. Unless it was a mechanical fuel pump, I wouldn’t see how it would make a whine from your engine bay
This whine sounds like a transmission whine or power steering whine. Unless the power steering is bogging down the engine to lose power, which I doubt, I’m leaning towards transmission.
Does it make the sound in neutral? Does the sound change when in gear or park?
both in neutral and in gear, its a 5 speed manual and the sound is especially loud in the lower gears
So under load. Your trans isn’t spinning in neutral so I guess that can rule out the trans.
Could you remove the power steering pump belt?
Judging by the video it looks like it’s serpentine
So that may not be possible.
First clip sounds like a bad power steering pump. Second clip sounds normal. BMWs are quite infamous for having loud transmissions, so just because it whines in low gears does not mean its broken.
Get a scanner and read the engine codes.
