#Is my coolant bad/low

If your coolant level is at “L” what do you think
Is it normal tho when the car hasn’t ran
GG @sharp igloo, you just advanced to level 10! Chat more to level up and earn top roles!
It is low. How ever that color is concerning.
Underneath the cap, it looks like stop leak was used.. what color is it exactly?
If it’s bad, this might be part of your “noise” problem
What’s stop leak and how do I make sure
Is this a really costly repair ? How can I check.
Stop leak is an over-the-counter additive to the cooling system to stop it from leaking wherever it’s leaking from
oh no
Respectfully, you keep asking this, but overall, the car needs to be looked at by a mechanic
Too my eyes it looks like regular coolant with definitive evidence of stopleak. But it looks quite old and should be changed next service.
The shimmering glitter around the top of the radiator is which tells me that it looks like stop leak
i used paper towel it looked pretty clear i just dabled the towel in the top
And I’m simply going by just pictures
where?
Looks like coolant crust
I hope it is
if it is stop leak whts the worst issue tht can occur
also @fresh totem i sent new video clips of car warmed up with half a tank of 93 gas
(Coolant sometimes becomes a crusty salt after drying)
can bad coolant fuck my engfine?
Correct
Check your owners manual for what coolant to use and fill to the full line. It is not bad enough to be concerned, level is also at low which means your margin is gone but not dangerous to the engine. Next time you need an oil change ask to get your coolant checked.
ok so i should top my coolant off at home rn ? and the coolant looks fine not milk with oily or dust or anything?
Yup
@dawn sigil check my ticker post i sent u new videos to look at u gotta listen carefully to hear the tick on accel
You can drive the car to the parts store if you need. There is no danger.
heres teh thing the coolant level goes up more when warmed up so do i check coolant while car is cold and not running or fill and check when car is hot and runningh
Check when cold. It might be under pressure when running
so the color looks fine in the rad cap? doesnt look like oil or anything in it?
Put a sample in a cup
Clear cup. Best way too know
how would i go about doing that? and can i change coolant at home with no big tools?
You just bought this right ?
like 13 days ago yes. 1owner
76k miles and i got it from a toyota dealer ship
i saw the car before they serviced it and after they serviced it looked and drove the exact same no real diference other than that valve clatter if it even is valve clatter
There is a petcock under the radiator to drain the coolant. You can open it slightly just to get some into a clear cup and then close it.
Again. Coolant does not look horrible and nothing to be worried about. Just keep in mind to checked out next service. Same with every other fluid.
What car is it?
Unless you have no access to it(skid plate in the way) then it should be exposed. But just have it checked when you bring it to the mechanic
2007 Es350
how much driving do i have befopre i need to stgop and fic the coolant. if your unfumiler im going to the car care nut guys auto shop to have him inspect my car after buying it for 145 usd and im getting it check jan 27th is tht too long to wait or no
If it does not go lower pretty much forever.
That would be determined by the manufacture, ie. your manual
im more concerned on accelaration noise even when warm its still pretty present at lower speed
That’s up to you. You seem pretty concerned with both issues so maybe sooner just so you have a peace of mind
It took me 2 weeks of ownership until I discovered my first car was 2l low on coolant in a 4l system. Rad was empty but it kept going without any symptoms of being low.
yikes is it ok? did it do any damage
25 days from now of daily driving should be good then?
untill i go take the trip to him
Just don’t let it overheat on you and it we’ll be fine
its rlly cold its like 30 degree and dropping
did you see the new videos tho? its warmed up car with half a tank of gas
Gas does not matter.
Low coolant makes it overheat, overheating causes damage. Low coolant does not cause damage on its own
did u see my other post? ill link you to it
(Unless dry)
