#Can I put my car in first gear brake + clutch in red light?

Oh this is going to be some interesting discussion. I’ll go get popcorn. 🍿
Yes. The whole dont push the clutch unless nesesary thing is very overplayed. The actual difference in longevity small or hard to prove. But if you know you will be standing still for longer than a minute it is good practice to put it in neutral due to the mentioned wear but also due to safty incase you accedentaly drop the clutch pedal.
If your car has auto-stop-start you need to put it in neutral for the system to turn the engine off.
Had this on a gladiator - threw me for a loop first time that happened 😆
Startstop on a manual works so much better than on an auto.
Yep, that was my conclusion haha. Genuinely didn’t bother me at all, never had to wait on it.
yes you can just be careful that you don't accidentally lift the clutch slightly and make sure your other foot is firmly on the brake.
ideally especially if it's a long stop you should put the car in neutral and let the clutch up with some people also pulling the E-brake or hand brake whatever you wanna call it just so that they can take both their feet off the pedals, some places even make this legally mandatory though that's rare and not enforced.
just find what works for you and drive your car, so long as you don't slip the clutch all the time it'll be fine
I hate it with a passion but most cars I've driven had it based on clutch position and speed meaning you could be letting the clutch out to start and it decides to turn off especially annoying on incline starts where you're trying to find the bite point.
so I just gotta slip the clutch fully in, and brake fully on as well?
I prefer it 1st gear + clutch and brake, easier and no rear end like Neutral and hand brake
I dont know where devil got the handbrake thing from, that crap is stupid.
I prefer neutral and my foot off the clutch. I learned to drive in a car with a stiff clutch and a long throw so its quite relaxing to let the foot rest. But in low moving stop and go traffic its easier to keep it in first.
that's perfectly fine as well, as long ng as the clutch isn't slipping it'll be fine long term and short term.
