Hey all, needing some assistance regarding me wanting to get a new exhaust on a 2013 ford focus I will soon be buying for my first car. I’m wondering what exhausts you all might recommend and where online I can hear what they sound like?
I’m wanting one that is not extremely loud but is still nice (fyi)

Also wondering if any of you might know how much it will cost for me to put in Apple CarPlay? And if the real Apple CarPlay can be fitted into the car or if I will need to get a fake brand?

not all brands make for every car, check out novus, remus, akrapovic, depends on what your budget is and liking etc.

#

don't buy ta technix if you are from EU

#

that's the worse brand to exist

#

for apple carplay it's how much they sell it for + installation

#

if you can install if yourself then that's free

+1 to YouTube videos for exhaust sounds and you can decide what sounds good to your ears. For CarPlay, look at Crutchfield.com and they will help make sure you get all the right cables, adapters, etc to make it work correctly. I’m personally a fan of Kenwood but that’s just personal preference.

One more thing. There are some less fun things you should do, on an 11-12 year old car, so it’s properly safe and roadworthy. I’m sure it drives “fine” but it’s worth the effort to make sure you keep it that way. How are the tires - check pressure (go by the pressure on the sticker in the door), find the date code and make sure they’re less than 8 years old, is the treadwear even and above the wear bars? Are they matched brand/types of tire? Next up, brakes, how are the pads? Any shimmy in the steering wheel or pedals when you get on the brakes? If you don’t know when the brake fluid was last changed, it’s due; get it changed. After that, chassis stuff, raise the car and check for play in the wheels, you’re looking for issues with the ball joints tie rod ends, etc, those are a safety issue that can cause sudden loss of control of the car. Then look at the maintenance schedule in the owners manual and you’ll see the services needed at the given mileages, if you don’t have records then assume it wasn’t done and do all the services up to the mileage it’s currently at. This stuff is all good DIY work and will build your confidence wrenching and, more importantly, mitigate your chances of being stranded or worse.

@dense bay Please be aware, the focus transmissions are a pain! Ford put a 'PowerShift' Transmission into the fiesta and focus, its a dual clutch 6 speed auto transmission that tends to shit the bed well beyond 100K miles. Ford currently has a class-action lawsuit for these transmissions. My dad has a 2016 focus and even with the most intense maintenance on it, its very rough at only 102K. Be cautious with these! I dont know why ford has such a hard time with their transmissions, I have a 2020 ford fusion with the 6f35 and its already starting to have small issues at 80K

I recommend the Cut, Buy pipes & Weld exhaust systems

Exhaust in two words? Just don't...
BTW airz23 is on the mark. First and ALWAYS foremost is bring all the safety equipment up to snuff. Tires #1, brake pads #2 (old adage: Brakes stop tires, tires stop cars.)
Fluid changes on EVERYTHING.
Upgrades have their shine only after that.
