@blazing sonnet how long has the oil been there? if recently, clean as much of it up as possible, and then drive it for a bit. You'll find the source of it pretty quickly then.
My dad was driving the car when the thermostat failed. After that, the car overheated a few times, and the head gasket blew. The mechanic fixed everything, including the alternator belts and similar issues. After the repairs (which cost around 800 euros), I noticed that the entire engine was covered in oil. The alternator had failed for the first time (probably for the same reason as this time, since the whole engine was sprayed with oil, and the oil got into the alternator).
did they ever clean up the oil from the first failure?
when we asked the mechanic why the entire engine was covered in oil, he just looket at it and left it as it was.
i don't know what to do we are bringing this car back to him for the tenth time
btw there is oil everywhere, even leaking from hood to bumper but when i want to find source there is litearlly nothing
probably cuz there is no more oil
check the dipstick, maybe there's a hole in the side of the block, idk
add oil to the engine (if there isn't any in it), and watch if any comes out
now he says that it isn't mechanic fault but when he delivered our car from repair whole engine was covered in oil
