#2013 Hyundai Tucson making clicking noise

So I have a 2013 Hyundai Tucson that makes a clicking noise when I take my foot off the accelerator. Does anyone know why that's happening? It has 147,580 miles.

Update, when the car is just sitting there running it makes the clicking noise

Could be a click of death unfortunately. Make sure your oil level is ok and, assuming it is, time for a compression test and an oil pressure test.

I think I'm gonna have to buy a whole new engine. Is there a potential cheaper way going about thing?

Even though you’re outside the warranty window, it’s worth checking what a dealer says anyways: there have been a bunch of these that got a warranty extension on account of the engine

Well. You are putting in a used engine of unknown condition since you can't get new ones.

Well this problem is solved. The dash just lit up like a Christmas tree and the car started shaking violently and now it won't turn on

At least worth asking the question. They likely say you’re on your own but if it’s covered under the big warranty extension then it gets a replacement engine and you can then either sell it for cheap or keep driving it

There are some folks on their fourth or fifth warranty engine 😆

So it got towed to a garage and they said the car was pretty much done.

Now I'm gonna buy a new car but it might be a while. Like I said at least I have 2 other cars

Thanks, it's unfortunate. That car has been through a lot and barely ever went to the garage.
