#Buying Dodge Challenger

Generally speaking, there’s a bajillion of them as Dodge has been cranking them out for 20 years. Tons of supply so the prices trend lower as a result. Plus, they’re mechanically simple, not a lot of complexity. Lastly, not a lot of demand as a sizeable chunk of the population dislikes them for one reason or another. You’re going to get a lot of folks in here illustrating that last sentence.
What do you think the max km i should i get on a dodge?
If this is your first car, get a v6 model; and you should look for the nicest V6 model you can find for your budget. Definitely get one of the 8 speed ones if you’re getting an automatic, I forget what year they switched but around 2015ish I think. The mileage can be a bit of a mislead, in that a well maintained 100,000km car (with records of said maintenance) is better than a 60,000km car with no maintenance and/or records.
Oh God not a pentashit, then again insurance would murder him
Fuck i complety forgot about Insurances
Is it high on the dodge?
Bingo. And really, post 2015/16 give or take, they were fine. Not a fantastic engine but Dodge finally figured out how to build them mostly correctly.
Yep. That’s why, given your age, I’m suggesting the v6 version.
I got a dumb ass question can you install Paddle shifter into any car?
not really
not all cars are wired for it, i know my friends g37 its as simple as buying the trim piece and the paddle module but not as simple on other cars
really depends on the trim but its gonna start high, my 16 year old friend has a 2018 scat pack and its like $800 for him to insure a month 😂
even a v6 will be expensive
16 with a scat pack
What parent
yup
Dodge challengers don’t have paddle shifters?
And a horrible first car at that
Not even just that. To much damn power for a kid
Too dangerous
Tbh I wouldn’t even say TOO much power
Its easy to learn how to use the power properly, but the problem is its RWD….
If he spins and he will with that power, hes fucked
Some do
Bro you’re mad. For a 16 year old that is too much power
When I was in high school, we were drifting around in FB RX7s and that had what 130 hp and I knew how stupid we were
So I can’t imaging me at 16 with 400hp
16 at 300hp, 18 with 400, both trucks but 400hp diesel is full of sketch
Slam the throttle around a corner and drifting 6000lbs
Curious how old you guys are lol
21 and calmed down a little
Figured that much lol. When I was growing up. Most cars didn’t have over 200 HP
I mean I'm sitting in 157hp rn
Noice
well I'm looking at probably a base model and it has 300 horsepower, thats not a lot
What a time to be alive when people think 300 is not a lot of power
Just because there are cars now more common with a lot of power doesn’t mean that 300 or more isn’t a lot of power.
I've rode around in my friends CLS53 a lot of time and its really not that scary
coming from a person who basically uses my C300 as a track car on the street I could handle it quite well
And I’ve driven a C63 with just about 600hp. Still stand by when I say it’s a lot of power lol
Its just RWD that it super hard to handle
the CLS53 was very manageable when I was basically street racing, but when I rode his C7 zo6 it was pretty scary
just lose traction 24/7
its really just RWD making the biggest difference
Not in that boat it's not
They are land boats
Just like Camaros are catfish
My favorite gen of GM
That's not the SXT right?
my first car had 380hp
rwd, manual
im 17 with 430hp now
wheel numbers
my car does 0-60 in like 3.9-4 seconds
kid wit the scat always romping on his shit in the band lot when his shit cold asf 😭
60-130
0-60 benchmarks are 💩
0-60 and quarter mile
0-60 is only bad metric for RWD cars
how
ain't no way a 8.7 is hanging with a 5.1, yet my silverado is on their door the whole way
0-60
I'm sleep deprived so please dumb this down for me
Are RWD cars inherently slower to 60, or something
By 0-60 my truck should be nowhere near them, but it will sit door to door next to one
ah right
8.7 0-60 actually staying next to a 5.1 is impressive, but my 8.0 ram will blow its doors off
yeah cars can't be boiled down to numbers very well
yes
I can’t tell from the context of the discussion, if it’s RWD vs FWD you’ll generally get better results in RWD because weight shift to the back wheels gives more traction to the drive wheels, but if it’s RWD vs AWD then AWD has the traction advantage so it generally gets off the line quicker
yes
huh what???
What i put it on my mothers name and make my self as a second driver?
That’s a conversation you should have with your mother and your insurer. Sometimes it helps the price, and some carriers know what you’re doing 😆
EBT office
SXT/GT will be much cheaper to insure than R/T, Scat Pack, and Hellcat
They really cheap too, what do you think insurance could cost for it? (IN EU)
A Dealer is selling Dodge GT with 2k km on it for like 30k
My mother would put it under her name but she doesnt wanna talk abt it alot cuz of the hp
no dont you will get so many points
