200ml isn’t something to be to concerned about. That’s about a 1/5 of a quart. Now if it was a quart or more over.

@burnt viper yes lol, too much oil can be really bad for the engine. That’s how you spin a bearing and blow up the engine. Get it drained immediately

Thanks for the advice guys! I got the oil drained at the shop today and we are back to normal. 500-600ml drained and still a bit above middle between min. and max. but most importantly its in the allowed space.

Also you're more likely to spin a bearing when you're low on oil

Not about if you’re more likely on low or over filled. Point is both have a much greater risk at spinning a bearing compared to a normal reading

And a “negligible “ amount is not something you wanna have lol, just causes it’s “negligible “ doesn’t mean it’s good. I would never run my car on 300-400ml of extra oil just cause it’s “negligible “

I have a built car and I'm in the process of building another, in the process of getting my bachelor's in automotive technology, and I work at an independent shop. I usually overfill my own cars to the nearest half quart or so and I've never had an issue

Yeah cause chances are you won’t spin a bearing. But the risk is still grater. On top of that, I’ve learnt that oil can foam when overfilled. Which reduces the longevity of your engine

Also please don’t overfill your cars lol, just put it to max and call it a day
