have a shop find the leak and change a simple O ring
how expensive is that
sealant will cause permanent damage to your components, and i mean ruining them, especially because youre car might be on y1234f
GG @shut arch, you just advanced to level 37! Chat more to level up and earn top roles!
oh shit
i wont be much, it will be whatever it costs, a shop will not knowingly recharge your system with a leak, it it against the law
will the sealant in the y1234yf recharge cans screw me up?
just get it fixed right, your honda is worth it, and yes
fuck i have used 2
ah
well, itll only cause problems way later in the systems life, so just go get it fixed correctly
ah ok
get it properly dischaged and fixed by a shop
wdym discharged
they use a machine and pull all the refridgerant out, into a junk refridgerant tank, fix the leak, and recharge it with pure gas
theyll also do a vacuum test
oh ok, do they do it standard? or do i have to let them know about it
It is the standard procedure, and let them know it was leaking, im saying this as a licensed professional
normal repair shop, call around and find a decent deal and get quotes
sounds good, will the price vary on the place the leak is at?
like do i have to bring it into the shop to get a price
they can probably give you a standard rate, might go up might go down, dont cheap out on a 2017 honda, it still has resale value and is reliable
another thing about y1234f is it can cause major issues if overcharged, the charge gas amount was reduced significantly from past systems, if overcharged for an extended period of time it could cost you thousands in damage @whole solstice
oh damn
yeah no i never overcharged it, and it was basically gone pretty quick(like 5 days)
thanks alot for the warning tho I will stay away from that from now on
so this isnt something I should try to diy right
no, not if it a y1234f system
alright sounds good
if it was r134a i would just say go ahead and buy a kit
just ask how much a refridgerant leak would cost to get fixed right
ah ok
the leak is pretty loud, and i can hear it pretty easily, does that mean anything
or does it still not tell me anything about where it is
awesome
yeah i bought the car for 10k so im not really surprized it came with a few progblems
do you have like a range that it would cost?
like 200-600?
haha im not your local shops, just make some calls and ask for a quote
truetrue, I will call around tommorow
thanks alot for your help though, im glad i didnt buy any sealant now lol
also is there a chance it’s the evaporator because I can hear it inside the car?
I hope not though
