I’m wanting to run some wires from my fuse box through a trim piece to my dashboard. I want to not set off my airbags or something when I try taking it off

#

I’m trying to figure out if it’s too much trouble trying to hide the wires inside my dash and go through the trim piece or just try and hide the wires in a crevice

#

this is the fuse box btw

#

and of course all the logical fuses to tap are in the engine bay🤦‍♂️

#

I’m thinking to tap this fuse so I only have power when the car is on?

To mitigate the risk of accidentally setting off an airbag, disconnect your battery like an hour before you do the work. For a fuse to use, is there a radio fuse?

In my opinion, assuming whatever you’re installing you’d like to be on only when the car is on, the radio may be the better one to jump on

Because usually airbags have a little cutout and say airbag

#

Also could I just take out the airbag fuse instead of disconnecting my battery

Appears they have what they call a roof rail airbag, so I assume there’s one in there; although I am surprised they don’t mark it as airbag

Just disconnect the battery first and you’ll be ok. I’ve pulled a bunch of these a pillars with airbags, it’s not bad.

or probably both

@stoic peak what’s the easiest way to take off that trim piece
