The wire is more than likely a 02 sensor and without it connected, your car will throw a code.

Do you have access to a wire, a steel wire? You can tie it up and get it off the ground. That’s your catalytic converter and is very very expensive to replace
You don’t want to damage it by driving with it hanging, you will throw sparks everywhere.
Though, it would look cool, I wouldn’t recommend it
