Probably just the vacuum lines/brake booster sucking in air after you shut down, might have a small leak in a vacuum line somewhere

Typically excess air past the MAF just causes a lean condition as it shouldn’t affect the valve timing but

Mass airflow sensor

#

It’s apart of the air intake system, it tells the computer how much fuel to spray in relation to how much air the engine is sucking in, so you get the proper air fuel ratio for complete combustion. If you get an air leak after the sensor the engine doesn’t know it’s getting too much air so it won’t spray enough fuel to get good combustion. This is a lean condition. Rich condition would be too much fuel not enough air.
