209k miles will do it
It's probably been so starved of oil and packed so full of carbon it's asking you to put it out of its misery
not yet it won't
i just got the car like, yesterday. it's got old oil for sure and i'm going to change it
well with Kia, Hyundai, Genesis anything you gotta make sure that it has oil to begin with
that 30+ MPG at $2500 will not die without me doing everything i can for it
you got it for 2500??
those cars are notorious for burning oil/excessive oil consumption etc etc etc
that's what's sacrificed for that 30 mpg
fuck it. beats paying $75 for gas for my old (~226k) 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer
ask me how I know, I have a 2012 kia optima just hit 151k
i'd rather pay $33 for a full fill-up and ~$20 for 5 qts than pay $75 each fill-up
They can take abuse straight until the engine shits itself
preventative maintenance on that starts with 3k interval oil changes and some sort of carbon deposit cleaner
then fuck it, we ball
other than that they are solid I guess haven't had any issues
I had to replace the starter recently but that's it
Was a pain in the ass
wait, isn't the starter in the engine?
(i'm relatively new to automotive maintenance/repair, so)
go to your nearest Valvoline oil change place they have a whole cleaning process for $140 and it's every 15000 miles
oh fuck no
it's under the intake manifold
it's not too difficult to get to, very least you don't need to get under it
I did the job without power tools tho so it might be easier
It's worth it
it's better than dropping thousands on another engine
and I'm not kidding. The original engine in mine shit the bed at 100k
jesus christ
the engines are terrible, rest of the car is adequate
They use Mitsubishi auto transmissions
The newer ones use CVTs idk which manufacturer
what names do you recommend for this thing; the Trailblazer i had named Betsy cuz. idk. Betsy like the dragon. she was a fucking beast.
i'm thinking Sweetheart for this one because Betsy was so loud and scary, meanwhile this one is much kinder, although kind of sad with the oil being so old
mine is loud and scary
especially because I didn't replace the intake manifold gaskets after ripping said intake manifold off
damn...
and I think I have more than 1 developed exhaust leak
@round birch take it to a dealership see if they can diagnose it, they have special diagnostic software

there's a data link port in the engine bay designed for dealership software
here's hoping they will, preferably without drilling a hole in my wallet
