#2004 Volvo S40 Headunit

My C30 is effectively the same car, and head units are generally not worth it imo. Very expensive and I'm not even sure if they're sold anymore.
My solution was to 3D print a phone holder that replaces the trim piece around the screen/CD slot. Looks like this:
And here's the link if you are able to get it printed from somewhere.

I also set it up so the aux jack and charge ports connect to my phone with only one USB type C.
My phone also rotates the screen and opens up Spotify or Google maps when it connects to the car Bluetooth automatically.
Might sound like a lot but it's way easier/cheaper than buying a headunit for these. Just put the phone there, plug it in, and it works mostly the same.
Idk about a backup camera though. I've had ideas for taping a USB camera somewhere out the back window, and having a really long cable run to the phone so I could plug it in and look. Never tried it though bc I didn't think I needed it
Well the thing was is that the car has no Bluetooth or anything like that
And I cant connect my phone, so I need a way to connect my phone to the car to play music, and I also needed a backup camera because I daily drive in busy parking lots and I am trying to avoid backing into someone
@jaunty maple I have a 2000 toyota avalon that had your problem (no aux). if that's all you want, then there are kits that (might) plug into expansion ports on the back of your head unit.
But, if you want a camera and the whole shebang, then check crutchfield they'll probably have something
Oh I forgot earlier models didn't have the things I mentioned. Sorry for the useless comment lol.
Does yours happen to have a cassette player in it? I've seen adapters from cassette to aux that work well. CD to aux also exist but they look a little more complicated
Yeah it has a cd player
GG @jaunty maple, you just advanced to level 1! Chat more to level up and earn top roles!
I have already checked that, literally nothing
I think you could find kits on Amazon that plug into the back of the module, replacing your CD player with an aux cord. Some DIY needed. Perhaps you could find one of those?
Also, look around Swedespeed forums. I'm certain some people have the exact same car and the exact same questions on there.
