1981 Mercury Capri with 82 5.0 swap

I cannot figure out why my engine is clicking while at idle, I can hear it in the valve train and in the exhaust.

Valve tap?

I've changed the oil recently and re-torqued the rocker arm bolts and the rockers are tight on the valve stem.

How long since a valve lash adjustment was done?

My ear for this stuff isn’t as experienced as some others, but that to me sounds like valve tick

it's static rocker arm bolts

which is why it's so confusing to me because they're not adjustable, the oil pressure is fine, the oil level is perfect, i don't currently have anything for the exhaust to rattle on to make that sound, i've changed the spark plugs and made sure all 8 cylienders are getting ignition
