yea, I wouldn't worry much about the year. what you should be worried about is how the previous owner has treated it more then anything.

starting with a clean example that's been well maintained and cared for will make a world of difference to how much effort you need to put in as well as your end result

very little have actually gone over 200 mph, and it will take extreme modification to do so. engine swap, probably a chassis swap or changing chassis components to make sure it wont fucking fall apart going that fast, changing gear ratios, and it would probably no longer be street legal from all the shit you have to do to it in order to make it go that fast
