Benz C350e 2018 - License plate ruins airflow?

Hello. I feel that the license plate is drastically reducing airflow to the intercooler. Do you guys think this will cause issues when I start tuning the car? Would a “side mount” be worth it? I feel they look kinda ugly

The engineers already did the math and it’s fine for airflow…… as long as the car is in its unmodified state. If you do put a tune on there, discuss it with the tuner, they may back off slightly to compensate (or their tune may already anticipate the “license plate in place” level of airflow).
