I took the steering column out of my car to replace the evap core and I duct taped the clock spring to keep it in place. However I forgot that the steering shaft itsself spins freely inside the clock spring, and I’m not 100% sure it has remained in the same place as when I removed it. Is there anything I can do to fix that?

You probably are ok, but there may be a recentering procure to do.
What is the re-centering procedure?
Is your steering column connected to your rack?
If they are connected just make sure the wheels are straight
What type of steering is it? Just hydraulic assist?
U usually mark the shaft and the rack connection before taking it out. Not a procedure if you forget a step like that, but it doesn’t really matter since it should be just a rod with a u-joint
