aluminum vs plastic water pump for VW CC 2012

My water pump is leaking and I have a shop that’s giving me a good labor cost to change it if I bring the part. But im stuck with the original plastic design or going with the aluminum water pump design. Since these are factory plastic and notorious for failure I need some opinions

I’m not usually one to complain about plastic parts, but given the choice, do a metal one.

It has lasted 12 years, so the new plastic one should also last 12 years. Assuming it's of OEM quality.

The issue is that the car was hardly driven to begin with, when we bought it was 66k miles

Plastic deteriorate with age. Not milage

for the most part.

But you seam to made up your mind and there is nothing wrong with going with an alu pump
