is it an automatic or manual?
as far as I know, you won't be able to do that since the transmission for the automatic at least is probably completely different, the housings are.
if you share the same tranny as the 3.7 from the 2010 tl then maybe you could switch it
if you have an automatic your tranny code might be either B90A or B97A, with the B97A you might be able to drop in the 3.5 from the 09-24 TL (NON SH-AWD) or the TSX V-6. It'll be 280HP vs your 268 rn.
Speed or hp doesn’t rlly matter to me just compatibility really.
This is the tl type s engine
And this is my trans, I mirror flipped the pic so that I can see if the holes match up and it looks like it does
Btw this is a pic of a trans that I found on eBay but it’s the same as the one in my car
So I’d have to find a newer 2009 and above tl or tsx v6 for it to work properly?
More than likely, there should be a sticker with a code on it, that’s your transmission code
Look at it facing the front when it’s mounted in the car and I believe it should be near the right hand side front
You’re probably also looking at a new ECU. I’m not 100% on the ECU comparability.
This is fact
OP, I’m sure the trans will bolt up fine. If there are any changes to the trans between the years I bet there are minute. With that being said the ECU may or may not work with it.
This seems to be a good question for a Honda/Acura Forum
