#Turn signals not working, Relay OK, Fuses not blown 1994 Golf Mk3 1.9SDI

If theres no power being sent than thats one problem, people often check for fuse blowout without checking for nothing going to it at all
This is a take out a shit ton of wires and run a multimeter for a while kind of deal
Not sure gotta check that sometime next week
Fuckkk
How do I test if its the switch?
I would see how much power is going to the bulb and go backwards from there
Next thing is planning is to put WD40 on the switch internals to make sure its not corroded
It sounds like theres a fluctuation there
Could you please please please explain how Im not familiar with the Multimeters even though I got two
Theres some amount of voltage in the system that allows it to start but it all goes away so power could be delivered too slowly
Like what do I do, where do I begin all that
Mhm I see
Could corrosion/dust/etc cause this? Or no?
Maybe dirty contacts
Maybe corrosion on the wiring, contact points, or any conductor that would cause it to lose charge
Could I try spraying WD40 on the switch contacts, fuse contacts and relay contacts maybe?
I dont think its too too likely but that being said, if something is enough to draw power like that you will certainly see it through a visual inspection
To get them loose or what
Oh nevermind im stupid
I get pb and wd40 confused all the time
What should I try testing first in your opinion?
Nah its all good
Well first have an understanding of how the power flow for this particular system travels. You can either start at the end point, the start point, or somewhere in between. Just use process of elimination to work yourself backward or forward to zero into a possible trouble area
Oh and just to see if the contacts might be the problem
What would be those points
This is ig the wiring for the turn signals
And the hazards work?
If the hazards work normally i would start there and work my way up to the bulb itself
Ye
Nothing a diagram and some youtube tutorials for location cant fix
Start at the hazard switch then
Because if power goes there and it works normally it and everything before it is clearly ok
Okk
The hazard switch and turn signals should have separate wires
I think, but they work from the same relay
So hazard switch from top to bottom testing
Alright
@radiant dirge Fixed
Sprayed some contact spray at the side into the turn signal switch contacts and it started working like a charm
Ended up being dirty and/or dusty contacts, I would have tried cleaning it more but
For that I need to take off the steering wheel and last time I did that to another Golf I ended up not fitting the steering wheel back properly so it was crooked
Nice!
