15w40 for me, if youre driving it exclusively in the summer the engine will be active then, and you can say thats the appropriate metric to use

I ran 5w40 in my TDI, but mine saw colder temperatures than you expect to. Use 15w40 diesel oil and you’ll be good. Original API rating called for CD but that’s obsolete, anything CH-4 or higher is going to be good.
