I’m looking to get the performance on my explorer up. Things such as more airflow, louder engine, suspension, ride comfort, etc.

A cat back exhaust is a fine way to add a little noise. You won’t get much power out of this engine but some noise will be fun. Also, give it a tuneup to restore some of the performance it has lost since 2009.

Restoration of the old performance is your best bet here. You're not gonna be making a bunch of power with this car, so throw an exhaust on it as well as general maintenance. Spark plugs, oil change, maybe a coil pack...the list goes on and on. Restore what's been lost before worrying about upgrading it so you don't break anything.

Ahh for sure

I think I’ll go for spark plugs first, the oil change when I take it in for service, the radiator is brand new, the tires are brand new, and then after oil change I’ll get the interior lights fixed and put in bright white bulbs in place of the dimmer factory lighting

I’ve heard cold air intakes are a good option, what’s your opinion?

it's quite a controversial mod.

it probably won't give you much horsepower gains if any at all. it could also reduce the power.

We take our cars to the Dyno to power check our mods. But these were not the results we were hoping for on the Peugeot and the Swift Sport...

Will an exhaust tip make the car sound deeper? Or resonators? I have no idea about any of this so I’m just finding things through google and gonna ask them here
