Define “good”

dusty hemlock
#

No

#

Oem is better

#

They are china cast wheels

dusty hemlock
#

But for the sake of it; they are “Bad”. Shitty wheels the average Joe buys cause they cheap. I wouldn’t buy aftermarket cast wheels though

dusty hemlock
#

Asking for voids in the metal

#

If you buy em

wanton crane
#

im looking for a good brand for cheaper since im in canada

dusty hemlock
#

You will never find a good cheap option really for wheels since they will all be cast. Just buy some used oem wheels. They have been safety tested by the oem and are there to last. Just search up your vehicle’s wheel pattern, size and offset and hop on fb marketplace

even the expensive ones are alloy

Oem wheels are cast too

#

They are just tested and made properly. Just buy used Mercedes, BMW or other brand wheels on FB marketplace

wanton crane
#

the fast wheels are made in canada not china?

#

they are owned by fastco

dusty hemlock
#

“Made” in Canada

#

Probably painted in Canada

#

No way they would cast them in Canada with how cheap it is in china and other countries

#

Get used merc or bmw wheels

wanton crane

i have a honda

#

civic si 1998

dusty hemlock
#

And?

#

All that matters is the bolt pattern, size and offset. I swear a fiat spider’s wheels will fit on that

#

Same with miata’s

#

I assume it is 4 bolt

#

Hell even some bmws and mercs are 4 bolt

#

Same with a lot of Nissans and etc

wanton crane
#

what about AVID1 wheels

dusty hemlock
#

Stop looking at aftermarket cast

wanton crane
#

and why would i do that

dusty hemlock
#

Because they get worse every year

#

Sounds weird but it is the truth

wanton crane
#

they are aluminum

dusty hemlock
#

Manufacturers keep on going down the cheap route and making them as cheap as possible

dusty hemlock
#

It’s the technique

#

That they are produced

wanton crane
#

i think it does because alloy wheels are a bunch of random metals compressed and aluminum is pressed which makes it stronger than alloy

GG @wanton crane, you just advanced to level 4! Chat more to level up and earn top roles!

Cast only has its place with proper cast iron engine blocks and aluminum cylinder heads. It shouldn’t be used on wheels. It is much more brittle. Oems do have cast wheels also but they are tested

dusty hemlock
#

Ya forged alloy is the strongest not cast alloy

wanton crane
#

im just wanting a pair just to last me two years i daily drive not go to a track

dusty hemlock
#

Well then keep ur steelies. If you only need a set for two years. Don’t buy new ones. Use what u got

#

Tire changes don’t cost a lot m8

#

If you’re spending ur money, spend it to the most of its potential; and if you don’t need to spend it, hold it.

#

So steelies or OEMs

Keep ur steelies, wheels should last a lifetime. Wheels aren’t meant to be a wear component

#

There is a reason why people with older cars still drive on their original wheels

#

How is longevity 3-4 years 😂

#

Bro send me a link to this, it’s hilarious

#

I assume this is cast alloy, as it includes cracks in the description

#

lol

#

What a joke, 3-4 years. Ya proves my point right there. Don’t buy china junk

OP why not get some OEM wheels from that generation? The SI(USA model) are gorgeous wheels. Or maybe even some Integra GSR Blades

#

Clean, 4 bolt pattern wheels that are OE and will give you a clean look

In fairness, Ive driven years and tens of thousands of miles on shit knockoff wheels and eBay specials. But that was also 0 track days and I wasn’t pushing any limits. That said, the right call are OEM wheels. I don’t fuck with aftermarket anymore.
