Supercharger sound on honda (2012 honda pilot)

it's usually really loud when it's cold, but you can still hear it even driving for an hour

First, turn the car to the ON position but do not start it. Is the sound present? If yes, i would imagine it is HVAC related- turn the HVAC system off. Does the car still make the sound or does it die with the system? If not present on the ON position, start the car. If the sound is present when you start the car, rev the engine. Does the sound increase in frequency/volume or stay the same? If it increases in volume, it could be your alternator. Check your alternator for a whining noise. If it is your alternator, there are two possible reasons why. 1 is you have a bad alternator and 2 is you have a bad battery and the alternator is working overtime. If it gets to that point i would recommend checking the battery voltage and seeing if it is outside parameters.
