I drive an ‘02 expedition with a 5.4 2v. It has 304k miles and is starting to show age because it leaks oil here and there and makes a lot of valve train noise when driving for the first 2 minutes.
I can buy a 5.4 3v core for like 500$ locally.
Will the 2v accessories and wiring harness bolt right up or would I have to swap everything out?
Another concern is the transmission, could the 2v transmission handle the extra power of the 3v?

I knew someone who did this. Took the 3v head from a Mustang and put it on his Expedition. So I know it can be done, it was just many years ago and do not know what he did to get it to run.
But adding power to a transmission with at least 304k miles, probably not going to run much longer lol

If you're just messing around I would re/build a 2V with better heads that don't sneeze out spark plugs, mod it and you'll be making more power than a 3V with less problems
