brake lights won’t work 😵💫 (Supra)

I’ve recently purchased a mk3 Toyota Supra 89 and doing maintenance realized the lights weren’t turning on while braking, The bulbs work bc the parking lights turn on and the fuse was clean. My only guess is it’s maybe brake light switch? Just here for suggestions

It's a momentary switch so it turns the lights on when the plunger is out

So for anyone curious I replaced the switch with no effect, then I went and hot wired the brake light failure box by just bypassing it and in the process fried the brake fuse, getting a fuse in the morning and seeing if it works

try using a voltmeter to check if pressing the brake and engaging the switch actually sends a signal back there

Did you make sure the switch was adjusted correctly
