Get a complete coilover
Will make your life so much easier to install; and for down the road.
A healthy budget would be around 2k Canadian for front and rear coils.
I just need something for daily use
Dont wanna get fucked by speedbumps man
Something that will handle any bumps smoothly without pain
Monroe quick struts are the easiest solution for what you’re doing. Rockauto has been a source I’ve used in the past, although if you prefer to use a local parts store they’re pretty widely available
Yes then coils; a complete kit
You can get ones that have height adjustmen, but also just stiffness adjustment.
Don’t just get springs and the strut separately as sometimes the spring rate will not go with the strut.
I mean my air ones also have dampening adjustment
But my dad just pulled the lowered car in the garage and the muffler is gone
Other day the fuel pipe thingy got dented
These issues i just dont want to deal with because of low height
Then get coils for stock height or get a stock coil kit
Where can I find that tho
Then get stock coils or upgrade to stiffness adjustable ones
Rock auto
Whats the difference betwren coils and strut shock
Is coil just strut spring etc together?
Coil is the complete kit, spring and strut are separate
So you have to assemble them to make a coil
Ah so coil is the assembly basically
And the spring rate might not always match the strut
Rockauto doesnt have oem tho
Do you got lordco
It has some fcs but i saw its some chinese rep?
So ye or nay
Idk probably?
Oem (stealership) or it will be oem aftermarket style (knockoff). You could also try just Amazon or some random sites. If you are putting parts on a car; more worth it to go aftermarket as they sometimes are way way better.
So whats a good aftermarket one
Thatll be like lexus acura quality
I just need the stock height mainly thats fucking things up
For a daily driver, use those FCS strut assemblies. They’ll work fine
Yes, if you want more performance it will be bc and silver’s
But I currently have a $3k airride setup tho
Just its overkill for me and its hurting more than helping tbh
Otherwise you’ll be looking at getting separate struts, cool springs, mounts from a dealer or Honda OEM wholesaler and then assembling them yourself
Yeah thats a pain
Any alternatives to fcs? Thay are like reliable
Which sometimes can be a pain, but sometimes very simple. Idk this guy’s experience though. Also factory coils may need a compression on the spring to fit it.
Then get a complete coil
Also make sure to mark your camber bolts
The usual alternative to FCS is Monroe Quick Struts, but they’re all made by Tenneco anyways haha. Not sure it makes a difference.
You can get all four corners for $260 plus shipping
Hard to go wrong there lol
They even provide instructions. Nice!
I’ve never used FCS myself, but the only brand I’ve ever seen fail in less than 50k miles was KYB
Most of the time, leaking strut, leading to a somewhat bouncier ride
Are there any warrantied ones
RockAuto ships auto parts and body parts from over 300 manufacturers to customers' doors worldwide, all at warehouse prices. Easy to use parts catalog.
They claim lifetime warranty on FCS ones
I’ve never invoked the warranty myself so I have no insight but it’ll be close to OEM ride quality and the price is right and the install will be as simple as possible
If i were to pay for installation whats a good pricr
Honestly I couldn’t say, the complication is that aftermarket air ride which may have some additional steps to remove
Good luck mate!
Strut leaks
It only gonna collapse if the coil spring rusts heavily. Which is extremely rare.
For all 4 probably around 1k
That’s a good mechanic
