#1991 Mazda Miata 1.6L engine issue URGENT

So no mechanic was ever able to figure this out. And neither can any of my car friends. So I thought I would ask here. Back a while ago when I drove the car around it would act like it was jumping out of timing. And I would get no power and it would sound like crap. With that being said everybody assumed it was the timing. So I got a timing kit and we tore everything apart. To our surprise everything was brand new and the timing belt was perfectly tight and the timing was on point. We buttoned everything back up and put everything back together. Started it. Drove it around. Never had any issues with it for about 3 days. And now she is doing it again but worse. It cannot idle or it will die. It sounds like it's running on two cylinders and I'm getting no power. It tries to come back to normal erratically in a lower gear at a very high RPM.

Any help would be much appreciated

If I had those symptoms in my car I'd check/replace my cam angle sensor

What exactly did you run down?

If you can provide a list maybe we can point out something you accidentally missed

OP, did you put a meter on anything?

If it won’t idle, you may have a clogged/malfunctioning idle control valve

To troubleshoot a fuel issue, you need to check pressure while it’s acting up, with a fuel pressure gage attached to the fuel rail
