#Crankcase ventilation hose on intake

You're fine
I don't believe it's a vacuum line. The only reason it is connected to your intake is so that
- Air exiting doesn't smell bad (goes through your combustion system and out the exhaust)
- Air entering doesn't contain foreign particles
If you have a newer car or a less reliable car (bmw, kia...) I would connect it back / put a breather on it. But it's not a pressing issue.
But if you have an old reliable car it doesn't matter.
Speaking of which, I've been wanting to fix mine with ductape for the last year
it's a 2005 Kia Picanto
I guess wrapping a sock/pantyhose around it would be enough for filtration
Basically it’s just a crankcase ventilation hose
And it’s wrapped back into the intake due to EPA or whatever environmental laws you have
Your fine to vent it back to atmosphere
thank you
I would connect it since it looks like two lines are using that as the rconnection. Regardless just because some cars are ok with the crank case being vented to atmosphere does not mean it's a great idea.
it's a pain in the ass to reconnect on some cars and you often need to buy a new hose - but I do agree with this.
@thick garden you can reconnect it with some ductape. Just make sure that if you use ductape you cover the sticky parts so it doesn't collapse and stick together blocking the air flow.
Alternatively you can buy the parts required to fix for like $20
Eughh, gonna have to drill holes and such in my intake pipe
Just one line, it goes straight to the crankcase
Crank case has two lines, one goes to the intake manifold, the other one before the throttle body but after the filter
