Got a passenger seat from a salvage yard. Rail and tilt adjustments are manual. What wires would i connect and what sort of power supply would i need?

#

does the car’s normal seats have those harnesses in it?

#

it should be plug and play

#

if not then it’s not compatible

#

and manual adjustments don’t have power :/

#

maybe try restating your problem

split wave
#

What harnesses do you mean?
I dont know what kind of power supply id need
Im just trying to plug in the heaters.

oooh

#

does your car have a button for heated seats?

split wave
#

Yeah

#

Also the seat is completely removed from the car

minor matrix
#

does the salvaged seat have the heated feature or are you adding that yourself

#

and is it the same seat

split wave
#

It has in the seat, the button is on the seat

minor matrix
#

is it the same as the one you took out?

split wave
#

Is what the same

minor matrix
#

#

ooooohhhhh i see

#

well for starters that seat will 80% need a DC power supply. Are you from the Americas?

split wave
#

Yeah

minor matrix
#

what vehicle is that seat out of? i’ll need to find a schematic for those wires

split wave
#

2011 audi a3, automatic transmission if it matters. This is the passenger seat

minor matrix
#

alr gimmie a few minutes

#

knowing Audi, several minutes

split wave
#

Lol, alright. I appreciate it

minor matrix
#

is it a “sport seat?”

split wave
#

I dont know where it would show that

#

Thats the most detailed label

minor matrix
#

that tells me everything i need to know

#

not

#

i hate labels like that

#

it’s just for warehouse purposes

split wave
#

My bad, i looked up the 2011 a3 sport seat and its identical. Theyre sport seats

minor matrix
#

alright

#

the schematic i need is locked behind a paywall

#

i can see if i can get it out of the website’s code when i’m home with a computer that can actually do that

split wave
#

Alright, thanks.

ye, drivin rn will in a few

minor matrix
#

actually this may work

#

I think it needs a module

#

so the temperature sensor can work

#

and doesn't light your butt on fire

#

The green wire powers all of the heater elements except for the backrest. In that line, after the heater elements it canges to a BRN/BLU coloured wire to finally heat the backrest

#

from there it grounds

#

The yellow wire is the sensor "IN" and the brown/wt wire is the sensor "OUT" (this goes to the climatronic control module so it can lower the power to the elements and not cause butt pain and fire damage)

#

the other wire is for something else, like an airbag or lumbar or something. it is not on this schematic

split wave
#

Would i have to get a climatronic module?

#

I think the seat has heat presets, theres a "|" postition and a "||" position

#

Above and below the switch

no worries

if you want headed seats you can buy covers. see if your car is prewired for heated seats. look under your seat for a tucked wire with the connection for the 4 pin plug. Hopefully its set up for it, if not this job would be a nightmare compared to seat covers. probably want to look up a how to.

just stab 12v into it with a battery to get it adjusted to the right position then leave it

#

and possibly get set on fire. but they have to be 12v motors at the end of the day haha

#

just directly set yourself on fire

or install the elements from a heating pad inside the seat
