BMW X3 2022, door handle doesn't work from the inside (left passenger)

Anyone know what is going on? The door handle just randomly stopped working from the inside only. I have a video where you can hear the sound cues which are different from a working one to the "broken" one

there's no clicking after fully opening the handle

I should point out that the car had been sitting in the rain for hours, no idea if this is even relevant...

works just fine

just the inside handle doesn't seem to work, by the sound I can assume something inside of the mechanism disconnected? since I can hear that a click is missing comparing the sounds

Did you remove the door panel?
The linkage from the door to the latch probably disconnected somehow

If you're lucky it's just a matter of putting it back in the clip and reassembling the door panel

is it the rear or front passenger side door?

cause if its the rear door, probably has the child safety switch on

rear, but weirdly enough the other one, the right rear inside handle works

My first thought was software sided but doesn't seem to be the case

which is stilk weird because legit nothing happened to the car, I mean, yes it rained but cmon...

yeah, usually the child lock switch is on the individual door, doesn't lock both
