Well, I’ve recently just repaired my car as I had my first crash and launched a wall across a field.. new front end so bumper bonnet and rad pack, cars been sat since about end of February, taken it out to drive and smelt somthing akin to popcorn( like the salted butter popcorn) no blue smoke or anything like that but I went to my exhaust and on the inside of it there is a blue powder, feel like I should be worried about that, what the heck is that stuff??
#HELP?? first crash aftermath 😅

Blue means burning oil.
I was aware of that for smoke but not getting a powder, not had blue smoke, checked in my oil no white sludge or any of that sorta stuff
But assuming powder would mean same as smoke
I will also say that the revs seemed capped at 3k and engine got pretty hot, I was seeing if I was imagining a cap or not and as such I pushed it a bit, maybe atomised engine oil?
Side note, cars a diesel
Was checking to see if engine oil had mixed with water / moisture
Just in case
And no I haven’t, was pretty certain I hadn’t affect any of the oil circuit
Change the oil - see if it happens again but you're most likely burning oil.
Fun, I’ll do that and see what happens, if I run into more problems I’ll more then likely keep updating
Right another update, I absolutely ragged the mini about get it past where it was supposedly limiting its revs, got engine up to temp, hit 60mph coz speed limits, and no issues, no blue powder in exhaust and no blue smoke nothing, it was like nothing was wrong, and yet, the fault light is still showing and every so often it does get that lack of power, I’m so bloody confused, got any words of wisdom for me peeps, @restive ridge I see you’ve been excessively helpful in other posts, you got any advice?
Check oxygen sensors
if they jump in and out of normal ranges it will turn the light on and shut off a few cycles after they’re within normal ranges again
they may be gummed up a little from the atomized and burned oil
also result in a loss of power because the computer thinks the engine is running rich/lean and tries to correct the issue that doesn’t exist
Aaaaah, incite-full, I’ll give that a go and let you know, cheers
hopefully that’s the issue, easy enough to clean
getting them out sucks
It’s an injector
