If you can get a brand new one. If you want to save 2k for mods go with the older model. Ain't that many differences between them. Both are great cars
take into account markup
you most likely aren’t getting a new civic si for msrp
here’s the golden question..
if you had to choose between a 2018-2019 civic si or a 2018-2019 lexus is300, which would you go for? both below $30k
what about in terms of smiles? surely the SI right with stick shift
if I do pull the trigger on a civic si i’m not sure what the key differences between a 2017 and 2018 model are
if you want to use your car i do not recommend getting a manual
2018 had more torque from 172 to 192 lb/ft
the 2018 also had an available automatic
the 2018 had a larger screen, better audio system, and sportier suspension
you don’t recommend a manual? why’s that?
out of the three years 2017-2019, which do you recommend?
so did you not want an is300?
I do, however as of right now i’m slightly at a 45:55 just because an SI would be more fun to drive
Modern manual cars have so many assists that driving them in traffic is hardly a pain, plus then when you're wanting to get on it and have some fun it is more fun. So if you want a manual get it. I daily a manual and it doesn't really bother me at all (my car is an 05)
after some deep consideration I think i’ve settled on the is300
however I’m not sure whether I should opt for an f sport or base
f-sport does nothing other than some style and makes the ride rough
I have not yet seen anyone mod a new gen base model is300
every build on the internet seems to be f sport
leads me to wonder if there any disadvantages of the is300
there aren’t really much f sports here for under 34k but there are plenty base models that are in my budget
I do plan on modding the car, so what do you think?
You can find the F SPORT trim levels on the entire lineup of Lexus cars. So, get ready for competitive performance and a sporty edge to your driving experience.
How is this possible? Well, you need to thank higher-output engines, different tires and wheels, an aggressive sounding exhaust, bolstered sport seats, tuned suspension and a flat-bottom steering wheel that is inspired by racing. These sportier versions concentrate more on appearance, handling and seating for greater performance appeal.
What's Unique about F SPORT?
The exteriors are unique and distinguished by a rear spoiler, exclusive mesh spindle grille, badging and alloy wheels, and colors that are specific to the F SPORT models. On the inside, you get an instrumentation level that is customized to your package.
Also, look at some of the trim elements like a steering wheel and a shift knob with perforated leather, a center console with aluminum trim and scuff plates and pedals. All F SPORT models have modes for Sport S, Eco and Sport +. You also get a custom setting that lets you pick the suspension, steering and throttle response from any of the three standard modes.
The F SPORT models from Lexus are meticulously designed using the finest of materials. From the factory line to your doorstep, these cars are tested under the harshest conditions and scrutinized for possible shortcomings.
^that's the differences summarized by lexus
I'd get the F sport trim if you can
thats clearly all corporate jargon
you can get a f-sport package on an rx hybrid
i guarantee you it does absolutely nothing other than make your car look sportier
don’t get an is300 then
get a civic si
you’re better off that way
I mean it does more than that depending on the car, personally I would shell out for an is350 F sport but if he wants an is300 then he can get one. You seem very critical of literally every option for no reason.
the f sport offers little to no benefit and costs more
i’m critical of every option because it isn’t all sunshine and roses
F sport on is350 adds lsd, eight speed, rwd is standard rather than awd, adds more interior features like standard backup camera. Doesn't really seem like nothing to me
LSD in particular is a huge difference if he's wanting to do any sort of performance driving
does an is300 not come standard with a backup camera
isn’t it mandated by law
either way if he’s looking to modify it he’s better off with a civic
Civic will have a better aftermarket
Get the 2023
small markup of 10k
Nah
GG @tired idol, you just advanced to level 23! Chat more to level up and earn top roles!
sure thing
most dealers markup civics, especially si models. theyve gotten smart and now hide their markups online by only displaying the msrp.
it is extremely rare to find a civic si without a markup. 99% of places this is never the case. it is very unlikely the potential buyer in chat will be able to find one without a markup
hello! so I have decided and I am set on an IS however, I was wondering which you guys would suggest of these options.
would you guys rather a 2015 is350 f sport with about like 70k miles for $30k
OR
2018 is300 f sport also $30k with 55k miles
older year, better car OR newer year less good of a car
lexus suggestions
Is350, hands down
Are you financing?
I will be paying in cash!
I'd go with the IS300. Newer car with less miles. At the end of the day, they're both good dailies. But reading back on your post, the most I would do to these cars would be wheels and bags/coilovers. Nothing more.
i wouldnt buy a lexus unless its the ls
good thing you are too poor to buy a lexus then
would you guys say $28.5k for a 2015 65k miles is350 f sport is a good deal?
checking one out tomorrow and that seems like the best deal in my area
no
28 is too much
25 and under is fair
it was a terrible deal anyways.. it had dents and a hole in the bumper. what about a $27k 2018 68k miles is300 f sport?
it’s a 300 so i think it has the 4 cylinder
