#Any ideas on how to make it fit

i don’t think i can tbf
nah i don’t want to cut it
maybe just pushing it rlly hard in and shaking it around?
@signal zenith
Could you possibly take material off the top of the transmitter?
nothing’s blocking it i just found out the connectivity thing is to long for some reason
it has clearance
Oh ok. So the blades that stick out to tension it into place are the problem?
Or the entire end that goes into the socket?
nope not at all it gets power and everything it’s just that the socket is to long and was prob designed on a truck or something
So it works?
GG @signal zenith, you just advanced to level 13! Chat more to level up and earn top roles!
works but you need to have force on it all the time so that it doesn’t lose connectivity
The only way I can think of to get around that is to get a different socket
to much hassle
maybe you have a plug at the rear seats?
would be the easiest
maybe even in the trunk lmao
no unfortunately checked everywhere even glovebox center console
i got another coming tmmr if it won’t fit i’ll refund till i find a good one
maybe you can connect it somewhere else to the 12 volt system
if i understand correctly it has to go to the radio threw the 12 volt system
what about you take the radio out and connect it to the cables behind the radio
no because it sends out a frequency signal it could be in the trunk if would still work
it will stick out too
wont be able to close the lid
This is your original concern. You didn’t say you needed to lid to close.
i think the only things you can try is
1 find a very shallow adapter
2 use it like you have rn
3 solder a bluetooth receiver to the stock radio tape or possibly it even works with cd interface
but thats rocket science for a newby
You’re not going to find a small one small enough to where you can close the lid. The electronics to convert a Bluetooth signal to then FM are why they are so large or thick.
you could buy a kenwood radio with bluetooth for 30 bucks
but i guess you have a bit larger radio
maybe there is other radios you could install
its really not too bad i also have this kind of lid open in one of my cars to fit a phone charger
looks way better closed but who cares
my concern is that the connectivity point is to long for my port and it does not fit well and won’t always get power since negative or positive is not touching
i got this
looks smaller and more compact
i’ll keep u updated
u could try to disassemble one of those and seperate the head to be in the ash tray and the base to get power to it
might have to extend cables
@supple path
if you dont use that space otherwise and its closed it would be a viable solution
just make sure it doesnt rattle around the ash tray
i’ll see
GG @supple path, you just advanced to level 8! Chat more to level up and earn top roles!
i don’t want to do a lot of work for the car since it’s going to be scrapped in 6 months and it’s just a burner car for now
i’ll just use it to drive in the summer
hopefully i don’t need to rewire and everything
@supple path
dude then just use it like you have now
its not worth the effort
acc
i think i found the solution
a extender
and i could leave this under my seat and it working not annoying me or anything
but who’s gonna enjoy summer with no music
wheres the problem?
just leave it plugged with the lid open
for a car that will be scrapped soon
the problem as i said is that it won’t go fully in since the connectivity long bit is to long for the car
idc if the lid is open or closed
it’s the thing not getting consistent power and having to hold it with ur hand in a specific way with force
ok makes sense
i thought you want to hide the adapter
well get a shallow extension i guess
or shorter one
or of the car gets thrown away just break the lid off
unless you want to sell those parts
or screw it off
take it out
i’ll see
i might buy the longer adapter instead and just put it between the console and seat
and just switch music with my hand when i need to do
i just have an android radio in my car and i use a micro sd in it
maybe you can get one cheap used and install it and take it out
i said the issue about that
i don’t have the small long radio i got a big tv like radio even a cheap one will cost me maybe 100
@supple path
yeah i know
but u might be lucky with used ones
