Red rotors usually means something locked the caliper up.
So as you were driving, the brake pads were engaged on the rotor. Judging by what you said and how they look, the rotor and pads need to be replaced.
At the very least, the caliper needs to be inspected to see what caused it to not work properly before it happens again.
kk thx

i was on the way to my friends house too 😠had to park all good tho
A simple pad and rotor change might not do it
Its possible the caliper has some problems and needs to be rebuilt or replaced
Ended up getting it towed to a repair shop because i had a free tow on my insurance
Yea , if it wouldve been a longer drive you couldve risked it catching on fire
more like boiling the breaking fluid and overheating the wheel bearings plus completely jamming the brakes on it
Those all will happen
But dire risk is a great risk, which is why ive mentioned it first
Never seen a car or truck burn down from that
It's surrounded by metal and all metal
I’m sure it can happen though. I had seen a truck next to me at a light with cherry red rotors and they were definitely on fire.
I’m sure that if he didn’t realize it after I told him, something would of caught on fire.
Seeing as brake fluid is extremely flammable and my shit has caught fire several times
Yah
It does
And it’s a scary kind of fire
Mever seen tire fires?
Tf do you do in that case ?
Smother the fire with a wet rag
Or use an extinguisher
Has to be either a type 2 or 3
I’ve luckily only had small ones
Ok thanks @sinful schooner good to know
Ive heard ABC extinguishers are very bad for the cars paint
on my maserati the arch liners were like a hard shape-molded fabric, probably quite flamable
