toyota aygo 2008 weird sound part 2

Hello!

i have absolutely 0 knowledge about cars so i apologise in advance for being stupid.

i posted here a few weeks ago about my car making a weird sound, and i was told to basically just turn up the music because it’s an old car and it will make weird noises. the “weird sound” sounds kinda like the belt needs replacing (a mechanic just replaced it a few weeks ago, which seemed to make it worse if anything?), and it used to only make it every once in a while but it has gotten worse and is almost constant now. the sound also stops completely when i press down the clutch (which worries me a lot), and gets better after a while of driving.

ik it’s probably hard to know what’s wrong without looking at the car, but maybe it’s something obvious idk. any ideas of what it could be and how broke i’m gonna be after fixing it? will it even be worth fixing?

when you press the clutch the engine has lower load, you could try to buy belt friction spray

belt spray arrived, could you walk me through how to use it LMAO

sure, open the hood and let your car idle. Then just spray it sligtly on both sides of the belt

letting it idle helps it spread to the whole belt

its no hazard with belt squick, you can drive it normally

but you should get the tensioner and bulleys checked out
