Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew how I should go about restoring these headlights on my LS400. I am not entirely sure on what to do to get them clear again. I have seen some people use sandpaper and polish, but I just wanted to ask around.

Best one for someone with little to no experience

You could go as cheap as toothpaste and elbow grease
Or lots of decent kits at your local auto store

Sand, polish, and clear is the only way to do them properly and make them last

I got mine done from an undercoating shop for free. They did the same thing also.

You start with the lowest grit first, then the mid, then the high, & use the polish bit to finish the job

#

Basically you're just scraping off the oxidation with a drill bit & making sure it has an even fogginess after you scratch it up at each stage

#

Most cordless screwdrivers will work for the job just fine & make sure you tape off the surrounding area with masking tape of some sort & be gentle but firm going in horizontal sweeping motions all across the headlight

#

800 grit --> 1500 grit --> 3000 grit

Then polish

If you've got a cordless power drill I recommend this one personally

Seriously the Mother's kit worked insanely good

Yeah I actually did the sandpaper and polish with my Mini Cooper that had this same problem. It took it right off and it looks almost brand new.
