#Mixing different coolants, same ingredients different colors. PEAK lifetime global & longlife

@grim crystal if you're just topping off a bit, use distilled water.
If you need a bit more than just a top off
If this is a luxury / performance car don't mix the coolants. If it's a good old reliable car, you can mix a little for top offs but best don't.
my coolant level below minimum right now thanks to ||overheating and probably a faulty fan module which going to be replaced soon ||
volvo s80 2008 2.5T
local branch stopped selling my coolant, going to try to buy it in a different branch which is 70km away from my home.
(I'll be in the area but still pain in the butt)
finally found another volvo owner!!!
You're good then, they're strong engines and the coolant pump is well built
As long as you don't do like 50% manufacturer A and 50% manufacturer B you'll be fine
I've got all sorts of coolant brands and mixes in my system right now and haven't had any sort of overheating issues
Although that's not to say I recommend doing that. I've been wanting to do a coolant flush for a while now and just have OEM coolant in there.
If it is not freezing temperature outside as said just use DISTILLED water.
my car started to shut down mid drive(electricity is fine) after a rest for 2min I can ignite and drive.
I cleaned the air flow sensor & throttle body(was dirty) and plugged in suddenly unplugged oil filter electric cable.
After that on the test drive I noticed my fan was not reacting to anything and the coolant boiling and pouring out of the reservoir due to overheating (changed a stuck thermostat and sensor a couple months ago).
Electricity jumped the fan and by itself it's working perfectly, going to change the module blindly soon. hoping for the fan to work and fix the new overheating problem.
So I'm not sure if I still have the shutdown problem but the fuel pump & it's module is the big final boss I'm hoping not to encounter..(my module is on top of the fuel tank🙈FML)
Did you encounter a similar problem?
Honestly no. Other than a busted coolant pump I haven't had any serious issues with the car.
no engine codes?
Well idk, I don't have any engine lights or messages. Could I get codes without dashboard warning lights?
Since I bought the car I didn't plug it into a pc, and didn't get a check engine warning light
Btw if the fuel pump module is faulty it won't show a code.
