I would also like to ask if the Hard Wax I've got is good or if I am in need of some sort of softer/better wax or some other alternative?

Wax gives it a shine as well as it’s a sealant your able to use just wax but I would recommend a full treatment for best looking results

Wax isn't gonna protect paint much. It helps repell water and adds gloss that's about it. If it's a new car and you want to protect the front end you should look into PPF

#

You don't have to polish to wax. Polishing is to correct the paint wax is more of a dressing.

Apply carnuba very thin most use too much. Even a good carnuba usually only lasts 3-5 months depending how much you wash and how the vehicle is stored.

I just found the container today, it was new, package sealed still

#

I bought it way back in 2021 after I polished my other car and then broke my spine

#

So I couldnt do anything

#

First time I got the box out since then

#

Anyways, I applied it to my front end today and uh, lets just say I seemed to have added a lot somehow? Even though I got a very thin layer on the applicator

#

Thankfully managed to wash it off and the wax hardened in like 30 seconds just as the package displayed, I thought they were too optimistic

#

But that thing hardened like a rock in a minute

#

But yeah I added a bit much the first time cause I was afraid to apply to little, the applicator itself would just be the only thing thats going against the paint and I didnt want that

#

And also its a 29 year old car but it has been well kept so thats why I want to add a little layer of protection

For what you want I think a synthetic wax would serve you better than carnauba. They make some that apply as a spray very easily and won’t leave white residue on any black plastic or rubber surfaces. You can get the black bottle turtle wax version at almost any auto parts store
