toyota gr86 2022 accident, other driver hit and run, is this probably totaled?

Got hit by a car while turning onto the intersection leaving my apt. Other driver fled the scene and I filed a police report and an insurance claim. I dont know when ill hear back from insurance since it’s a holiday weekend. Should i be expecting it’s totaled?

I pulled the bent panel thing back out over the tire so i could drive the car back into my garage.

There was some fluid leaking from the bottom front (left?) of the car and it made this big screeching noise any time i turned right.

Any advice or thoughts appreciated 🙏.

thank you, I will wait to hear from insurance. Should I be contacting/looking into any repair shops in the meantime or just waiting to see what insurance says/recommends?

i am worried about the frame (?) underneath the panels because a lot of the surrounding plastic and stuff seems broken but maybe that is something i will have to wait until later to find out

Keep a look out for alignment of the panels and headlight, that’s usually a sign that somethings shifted more than you’d want

If there’s screeching (not from loose body panels) then i’d definitely be concerned about moving the car any more than you have to

anyhow it depends on what state you live in but insurance has to give you enough money to get a similar vehicle

in my state the law even allows for an insurance company to just offer their customer a car instead of a payout

and the two shops were pretty far apart

another thing that i will say is if the insurance company is being really pushy about something you don't always have to listen to what they say

for example when my dakota got totaled they refused to get me a rental car at first

they sent me their valuation with a few comparable vehicles

it is based on one sale and two listing prices. It is around what msrp was, and seems about 2-3k lower compared to any of the same car i can find listed online with similar mileage nearby, or what I get when I enter the mileage and car on this NADA website. But I also know that listing prices and NADA are not perfect (?) and I'm sure that the cars that are listed for lower (more reasonable) prices get sold quickly.
